Chiropractors are used quite often to resolve disputes via the QME system in CA work comp. TeachCE.com provides pre-QME training (through Livingstone-Lopez Consulting-DWC Provider #2), and continuing education (through Elliott-Lopez Publications) for all specialties, including Chiropractic.*
*We are certified by the California Chiropractic Association for up to 18 chiropractic CEs per year, regardless of whether you use the credits for QME CE or not.
Chiropractors can be considered Primary Treating and Secondary Treating Physicians in CA work comp.*
* For injuries on or after January 1, 2004, a chiropractor shall not be a primary treating physician or secondary treating physician after the employee has received 24 chiropractic visits, unless the employer has authorized additional visits in writing.
Like all physicians, for undisputed injuries, chiropractors must be on a Medical Provider Network of the employer to be able to treat and get reimbursement for such treatment (with some exceptions).
